Life As A Single Mommy Of Three

Darren and Kristin are such a blessing in my life in so many ways. One way in particular is they offered mom and I a vacation at there beach condo in exchange for a week alone, a mini honeymoon :) So from Thursday morning until Sunday evening I was a mommy of three. The only down fall for me was the lack of sleep. If you know me at all you know that I do not function until the clock says 9am or later. Most of the time the Bolling's are still asleep when I arrive on the days I watch them, but they decided that since I was 100% responsible for them they would wake up at 7am every morning. I must admit it was very sweet to hear the bedroom door open Friday morning and look up to see two sweet faces starving back(this was the day Ty slept until 9:30 which is unheard of). There are way more positive things to say about being a mom then negative. Although I can't wait to be a mom I love being "Dessi", here are a few of my favorite things: sweet hugs and kisses, giggles that are so contagious that you can't help but laugh along, spoiling them to no end, keeping them up an hour past bedtime because we are having so much fun none of us want it to end, "friendly" competition on the Wii, and best part the "I love you too Dessi" before tucking them in at night. Tyson, Lilah and Jax are not just a summer job, they are my adopted nephews and niece!! So Darren and Kristin, anytime you want a vacation you know I am always willing to step in as "mom".

New Room

For graduation mom got me a new amazing bedroom set and I LOVE it!! Then soon after she got me a new conforter set. It didn't match my room beucase I was planning on painting. Well one year has past and I FINALLY settled on a color; Pale Daffodil. I am in love and sooooo glad that the lime green is gone!!!! Here are the walls without decorations. I am in the process of making/buying everything. Just need to add the decor and desk to have a finished project!

The Home Place

Saturday mom and I decided at the last minute that we were going to have a nice dinner at The Home Place. It was our first visit but

defiantly not our last. If you have not yet had a chance to eat there I highly recommend that you do!! It is AMAZING!!!! All you can eat southern comfort food. It doesn't get any better then that!

Here is what you get for your money:

$14 each gets you:

2 meats(you automatically get fried chicken; then pick from country ham, roast beef or pulled pork on Thursdays only) we got the country ham which was great!!

Green Beans

Mashed Potatoes

Gravy

Pinto Beans

Cole Slaw

Corn

Biscuits

Apple Butter

Drink(water, lemonade, tea or coffee)

AND......Dessert(it was blackberry cobbler with ice cream, but that changes all the time)

EVERYTHING was amazing and for $14 of all you can eat homemade southern food you can't beat that!
